The Texas Department of Public Safety will not start your application until you pay the application fee and all information and all required forms
have been submitted. Regardless of any prior situations or submissions, you must submit new fingerprints as part of this application process.

Texas Application Process
DPS prefers online application and electronic upload of attachments.
An LTC-6 is not required unless you are an out of state resident.
Documents do NOT need to be notarized.
The LTC Application Fee is $40.00.
Minimum Calibration for Proficiency Demonstration is .22 LR
Iron Sights only for the shooting qualification.
No Red Dots, RMR's, Lasers on optics are to be used during the LTC qualification.

Applicants for an original (first-time) LTC should submit an online application, and schedule an appointment for fingerprinting after you have submitted an application.
